Welcome from the Programme Director
Welcome to the Project Management Graduate Programme at the University of Sydney.
Project management is considered to be a very important area of research and practice which is continually receiving high attention from local and international companies.
The PMGP would serve as a knowledge network to promote experimental and experiential learning and sharing of project management and coordination processes among project engineers and other relevant communities. Through PM communities of practice, lessons learned, agency-wide search, expertise locator, and training, PMGP would be connected to engineering resources that help effectively and efficiently solve problems and design solutions which in turn, feed into continual improvement via training, best practices, policies and procedures.
Prospective students have the choice of applying for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Project Management, Graduate Diploma in Project Management and the Masters of Project Management. Many career paths can be gained from these studies from a Project management Team member right through to a Senior Project Manager.
We are offering our courses with four specialisations:
- Project Economics and Scheduling Management
- International Project Management
- Project Risk Management
- Strategic Project Management Implementation
Students may further undertake a 12cp project within their area of specialisation as part of the Research Practice Pathway. Alternatively, students may decide to take the 12cp Project Management professional practice oriented unit. These speciality units provide a path to industry-based projects, writing a thesis and provide the option to further progress to the MPhil with a possible upgrade to a PhD.
