Our programme is structured at three levels. Each level would equate to a certain role in industry. As a guide, these are detailed below:
- Graduate Certificate - Subject Matter Expert/Team Member
- Graduate Diploma - Project Manager
- Masters Degree - Programme Director/Chief Project Officer/Senior Project Manager
Graduate Attributes
Our graduates will have the following attributes:
- Research and inquiry - Students will develop an appreciation of the role of project manager or engineer manager in the professional world. They will gain an ability to apply and contextualise a deep understanding of a specific project management discipline.
- Information literacy - An ability to gather, manage, integrate and critique information attained from various sources in order to ascertain the relevant information required for the identification, formulation and solution of a problem. Possess a deep understanding and appreciation of engineering design and implementation.
- Personal and intellectual autonomy - Graduates of the MPM will be able to work as strong team members, in a way that is informed by openness, curiosity and a desire to meet new challenges in a management, consulting and international project management and engineering management environment.
- Ethical, social and professional understanding - Graduates will possess an ability to lead a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team. They will have an appreciation and ability to promote sustainable project management and design projects. Graduates will have the knowledge and capabilities to devise a plan for projects, perform cost modelling and schedule control, risk management and analysis, and human resources management in a number of PM domains to meet all standards set by their relevant specialisation regulating bodies.
- Communication - Graduates of the MPM will be able to effectively communicate ideas in project management to a wide range of personnel, from managers to construction and industry professionals. They will have a strong ability to write professional reports and research articles.
